Battle of the Blueberry Buckle

Okay, this post is not at all about gardening, though Son #1 does have blueberries in his garden.  Does that count?  Anyway, last Saturday, my daughter went blueberry picking.  Now we are loaded with them.  So what do you do when your refrigerator is full of blueberries?  Well, the obvious choices are blueberry muffins, blueberries and cream, blueberry pancakes, and just eating them fresh out of hand.  You could just go blueberry crazy this time of year.

Of Saturdays, Sun, and Sweetbays

Spent all day Saturday at Six Acres (Son #1's property).   Please excuse me if I speak of this land as though it's my own.  I do know it belongs to my son, but I've always wanted land, so I'm living vicariously through him right now.  It's okay, 'cause he's getting free labor.

Scenes from Six Acres

Spent another Saturday working at Son #1's property, aka Six Acres.  Things are pretty much the same there.  House is progressing very quickly, property a little slower.  About three acres has been cleared for horse pasture to date.

Berries & Blooms, Bees & Bulls

Just spent a day working at my son's property again and couldn't resist taking a few photos.  Six Acres was teeming with wildlife yesterday with all manner of noises emanating from the swamp.  I tried my best, but I am not yet quick enough on the draw, for I missed several photo opportunities of birds, dragonflies, and even a rabbit.  In the end, my word-nerd self has noticed that all of the photos I did take start with the letter "B"!  So, the B's have it today!  Enjoy a walk with me across the property.  After way too long living in cities and suburban neighborhoods, it is wonderful to explore and learn about our native land.  I only wish I could identify half of the plants I encounter!
