Are you a listmaker? I cannot count the number of lists I have made in my lifetime...list of goals to accomplish, weekly grocery lists, lists of meals to cook, daily to-do lists, lists of things to take on vacation, lists of things to do before leaving on vacation, baby name lists, things to buy for baby, puppy name lists, things to buy for puppy, etc., etc. Whatever is going on in my life at the moment requires a list...or ten. Worst of all is probably what Husband dubs the "Bane of my Existence" list. The BOME list is that (fortunately) short list of things to do that are making me insane at the moment. For instance, things like "repair son's shower"; "pressure-wash north wall of house"; "clean fish aquariums"; "get pollen out of pool." Husband really hates this list, as it seems to replenish itself as soon as things are crossed off. Oh, well. I don't know whether all these lists really help me much, as they are constantly being rewritten, reworked, and they are rarely followed to the letter.

the world...but a bit better
Posted by
Floridagirl
I wrote a whole slew of posts back in the spring about a beautiful jewel of a garden located here in Central Florida. It's been months since I could get back, but this past week, I made the journey. It was a beautiful day and as gorgeous and awe-inspiring as always. Come along with me.

Ginger Snaps Back
Posted by
Floridagirl
Curcumas are certainly cold-hardy in Zone 9, but what a long dormancy we must endure here! They collapse down into the earth sometime around November, and the new leaves don't start peeping out of the soil again until around April. As for blooms, it is typically June or July before we see those. Of course, they will keep blooming for many months.
