Well, warm weather has returned and a gazillion bugs right along with it. Yes, we have seen hordes and hordes of those awful lubber nymphs this past month, as well as a few less conspicuous critters.

November Notes and Frosty Fears
Posted by
Floridagirl
Just for the record...
I'm doing something a little uncharacteristic of me on my blog today. I'm posting a few wide views of the garden, mainly just for the record, as winter will be upon us in January, before we know it, and after these last two winters, I have no faith that we shall ever have a frostproof winter again. Never mind that there is a town literally named Frostproof not so many miles down the road from us. From what I understand, that name was chosen long ago to attract citrus growers to the area, but it does indeed suffer the same risk of cold as we do...not frostproof at all. ; )

Nightmares on Oak Street
Posted by
Floridagirl
My walk through the garden today fell a bit short of idyllic and peaceful. In fact, I witnessed a few outright nightmares! If you are squeamish or prone to fainting, beware as you enter this post today......

Glimpses of Glory in a Garden

"...the whole earth is full of his glory."
~Isaiah 6:3
This weekend, I witnessed glimpses of glory in my garden. It has thrown me into a fitful state of rhyme this afternoon, so please, please, pardon the poetry. Some days, I just can't help myself.

Hunting Assassins and Hanging Thieves
Posted by

There are a few visitors in my garden that are so vicious and cruel that they are quite welcome to stay as long as they like. I'm talking predators. Here are a few I have spotted recently:

An Insect's View
