So I was thinkin' of a name this morning for the hodge-podge collection of photos I was tryin' to turn into a real, bona fide blogpost. Being truly in love and completely enamored with the month of August, the name "August Rush" popped into my brain. Of course, it did. But then again, I already used that name in a post last year. So I altered that old title a bit today, and I'm just gonna gush and gush about my wonderful August garden.
August has brought my hot garden much needed downpours of rain and shady cloud cover. It has been a pleasant month. And now it's time again to search for my best and brightest tropicals for the Hot, Loud & Proud meme hosted at the end of every month by the Plant Fanatic in Hawaii. Here's what I found today:
I am in love with August! Our peaceful garden has enjoyed weeks now of heavy rains, luscious growth, and bounteous bloom. The tropicals in particular are flourishing in the torrid heat and humidity. I have to say it works for me too, as cold weather does a number on these old bones and dry air wreaks havoc on my skin. I hear many people wishing summer away, but I wish it would stay. At least in Florida, we have a couple more months left. : )
