Azaleas in Wonderland
Posted by
Floridagirl
A few days ago, Susan mentioned to me that she had found Banana Shrubs last year at Bok Sanctuary's nursery. (Thanks, Susan!) I made a mental note to look for it next time I was there, but as the days passed, I just couldn't get my mind off those Banana Shrubs that are creating a heavenly scent in my sister's garden right now. Cloistered Away
Posted by
Floridagirl
My family and I ushered in October by cloistering ourselves away to an island paradise. Cloister indeed! The UGH and the AAH.
Posted by
Floridagirl
First, the UGH. A big mistake was made at PITV this weekend. On Saturday, husband and I set out to my young nephew's to do a little yardwork at his new house. We knew we'd be gone for hours, so we left a list of chores for Only Daughter and Son #2 to do while we were gone. One thing on the list was for Son #2 to clean the pool filter. He was told to leave the cap off, since it's a little tricky to seal it properly, and husband intended to do it when we got home.

River Walk
Posted by
Floridagirl
Yesterday, I went down to the river. I never tire of visiting, for the experience is always new, always changing. The Peace River is an unsung river, small in scale, and usually conspicuously absent on maps of Florida. For much of its length, it is relatively unspoilt, undeveloped, and truly a peaceful place of respite.
